The busy buying and selling season is in full gear in Chaffee County. In May, the number of home closings was up 39% from last year and saw an 50% month-to-month increase. The median price for those homes was 14% higher than last year but decreased 11% from last month. In May, 14% of the homes that closed were priced at $1M or more. Throughout the month, sellers added 104 new listings to the market, 28% more than last year and 86% more than last month, giving buyers more choice. 21% of those new listings are priced at $1M or more. Buyers were active in May, executing contracts on 48 homes, which is 55% more than last year and 41% more than last month. Homes were actively available for a median of 36 days.
