Chaffee County Housing Market
The Chaffee County housing market kicked off the new year with a jump in new listings of homes for sale. Throughout the month, sellers listed 45 homes, 18% more than last year and 67% more than last month. Buyer activity was down from last year but increased month-to-month with contracts executed on 28 listings, which is 27% more than December. The listings that moved to pending sale did so in a median of 92 days, roughly 3 weeks longer than last year. January Closings were down compared to both last month and last year. The median price of a home that closed in January was $629,000, 19% more than last January and 5% less than December. Three of the 18 homes that closed were priced in the $1 to 2 million range.
