Chaffee County experienced a record-setting increase in home sales last month with 49 closed listings. In April,
the number of closings dipped to 26, which is 47% less than last month and 40% less than last year. The Median
Closed Price for those homes was 15% higher than last month, but down 4% from last year. Homes that sold in April
were scooped up quickly, spending a median of 8 days on the market, which is consistent with the numbers we’ve
seen in April for the last few years.
While closings were down from last month, the number of contracts buyers executed on homes in April had an
increase of 96%, which indicates that more closings are on the way in the coming months. Sellers brought 60 fresh
listings to the market in April, 10 more than last month but 16 fewer than last year. At the close of the month,
there were 141 active listings of homes for sale, 65% more than last year at this time.
